Prevalence of Extended-Spectrum Beta Lactamase blaCTXM, blaSHV and blaTEM Genes in Escherichia coli Strains Isolated from Clinical Samples of Patients With Urinary Tract Infections

Introduction: Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are the most prevalent in patients worldwide. Escherichia coli is considered as etiological agent of UTIs. The prevalence extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing isolates a health care concern aims this study was to determine antibiotic resistance profiles and blaCTXM, blaSHV, blaTEM genes E. isolated from clinical samples obtained with Methods: From September 2019 March 2021, total 1200 urine were collected analyzed suspected having UTI referred Amir-Al-Momenin hospital Zabol, Sistan Baluchistan province, south-east Iran. Antibiotic patterns blaSHV determined using disk diffusion method PCR, respectively. Results: mostly against ampicillin trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, 66% 54% all being resistant. Also, investigated highly susceptible meropenem gentamycin (95%). blaCTX, 22%, 30%, 24%, Conclusion: Resistance trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole high, therefore their prescription must be restricted. In addition, expressions alarmingly high. order control spread by these isolates, constant monitoring necessary.
